Dear Artec

1. Why can’t we have chap stick? It could be a big issue students will play with them. Also kids share and pass germs along to other kids and some get sick.

2.Why is sagging a problem? It is gang related. And showing underwear is not cool!

3.Why do students complain about typing being hard? Because it's hard work and some kids don't want to work hard.

4.Why is history fun to learn? You get to have fun learning about wars. And you're learning about some of the most interesting people in the world, but it's also a lot to remember.

5. Why is school so fun to come to? Because you get to be around your friends and you get to learn so much.

About the Rubik’s cube

The Rubik’s cube is 30 years old now. The cube itself has been the nation’s most mind boggling puzzle since 30 years ago. I have been solving the Rubik’s cube for about four years now, yet I cannot beat my record of a minute, 16 seconds.

I have taught many people how to solve the cube over the course of four years. It is my hope that I have taught you all something about the cube by the end of my report.

There are many ways of learning how to solve the cube, self taught, internet, books, or friends. There are also many ways to solve the cube after you have learned to solve it. A few of these ways are finger flicking, patterns, and speed cubing. Finger flicking is just using your fingers to turn the sides. Patterns is using different Alger Rhythms to change the speed you can solve the cube. Speed cubing is pretty much just solving the cube at extremely fast rates.

Starving For Flesh
My heart has stopped beating
My eyes are green and small,
I can hear a person’s conversation a mile away.
My fingernails are black and long and sharp,
My teeth are spaced out and brown.
My clothes are torn and raggedy with blood,
I walk slow, I sprint fast.
I don’t eat home meals any more,
I’m all boney and no meat on my bones.
I don’t talk, I scream.
I dug out of my grave,
and I’m starving for fresh meat.
I see a person walking,
I can smell them from a mile away.
I sprint towards them and I grab them and eat their flesh.
If they are still alive and then they run away they turn into a monster like me within five minutes.
I’m a monster that people dress up on Halloween.
I’m a monster that lives six feet under,
Being a zombie is the best thing that's happened to me.

The taste of ink on my lips
From the pen that I wrote with about my first kiss
My lips are poisoned from your sweet kiss

The pain and suffering I felt from that kiss
Wondering if you felt the pain from my kiss

I can taste the ink on my lips
And the chapstick that you wore when we kissed
Oh how I miss your sweet lips
And from that kiss wich I do miss
I still write about our first kiss
I still taste the ink on my lips
From the pen that I wrote with about my first kiss

In my opinion, if you ride dirt bikes the 250 2 strokes get up and go faster than four strokes right now, but I know that they’re trying to put power bands of some sort in to 4 strokes, but now that they’re doing this I don’t think they even make 2 strokes any more. I like 2 strokes’ because they get up and go faster than fours do and they’re more light weight. But the bad sides to 2strokes you need to do maintenance before every ride or every month and it’s nothing hard just throw some chain lube on it, check gas tank, and clean carburetor every year or so and run the on premium fuel. They tend to run better and it keeps your motor clean faster and if you need any parts I would tell you to go or to order from Rocky Mountain ATV in Payson Utah, they have any parts you need. So take care and have some good riding.

Dallas Cowboys
I love the Dallas Cowboys. They are my absolute favorite team in the N.F.L. My idol is Emmitt Smith, he was the running back for the Cowboys for many years. He holds some of the most important records in football history. He has inspired me to get a tattoo of the Cowboys on my arm, and also make me want to be a football player in my life. My favorite team is Cowboys and it will forever be so too.

The Dallas Cowboys were created in the 1960’s and still are going on to this day. This season of 2012 is not their greatest season, but they're doing better than usual, 2 games won and 2 games lost. They have the title of 20 straight winning seasons 1966-1985 and they only missed the playoffs twice 1974 and 84.

Review torque ratings on a Dodge Pickup Cummins turbo Diesel engine.

1.In my opinion the Cummins engine is the beast of all engines. It is the most reliable engine out there and has the most torque out of all the diesel pickup trucks on the streets and highways. The engine in these Dodge trucks are indestructible and will run for a million miles. You can find these trucks out on the streets, but really the only place to go to see the real “BIG BAD BOYS” is out at the diesel drags where you can experience the sound of the twin turbo’s whistling down the track beating five hundred thousand dollar sport cars, or the sled pulls where these trucks give it all they got to pull the furthest sled loaded with nothing but weight down the dirt track.

Movie Reviews-

I really like Resident Evil 1, 2, 3, and 4,

It was really scary, and full of action.

There were a couple of times that I jumped out of my seat.

It was like the Ultimate Zombie Apocalypse movie. I loved

it for now it is my favorite movie. I could watch it over, and

over. I especially like the part in the 4 one when they

saved all the people in Arcadia which is part of the Umbrella
Corporation, a very evil group of people that uses other people

as guinea pigs in their research to stop the mutations .

I reallt agree with you on this movie, like they are kinda gorry but at the same time its one of those movies that make you want them to make a new one every week like a TV series. Good choice on your movie review. - Violet

Freaking cool review about Skyrim

I personally think Skyrim is classic and a really cool game, but very long and hard. My friend took three hours just getting to and from Whiterun. Please note he got attacked by bandits like seven times. There’s a wide variety of creatures in the game. This game is better than Fable.

Mac Miller. He is a very unique music artist. He never thought he would make it big, but he did. He raps about serious things and also not so serious things. He does his own style of music, but he works with other artists like Juicy J and Wiz Khalifa. His mix tape Macadellics is personally my favorite album by him. All of the songs sound different, but you can tell he keeps his style in all of the songs. I looove the song 1 through 8 in Macadellics. He talks about when he dies, will he go to a heaven, or will there be nothing, and not to be afraid of it.
You have to listen to the mix tape to know what I’m talking about. I also love the song Thoughts from a Balcony. That song hits me personally. Mac Miller is one of my favorite artists. Even the mainstream songs he has are very good. (He doesn’t have many.) And those songs made it really big, for example, Donald Trump, Loud and The question with Lil Wayne. But his underground tracks are the best. Especially with Juicy J. J

I like Selena Gomez because she has great songs like a year

underwood.jpg

· I like the song Jesus Take the Wheel by Carrie Underwood.

· I like it because I can really relate to it in a powerful way.

· The song does have some meaning of its own, because it has a bunch of feeling in it.

· I have had some of the same experiences as were in the song.

· It makes me think of bad and good times in my past.

· I guess it makes me remember what I have done to people.

· What my lord in heaven has done to save my own life and

the life of my family and my friends. I am very thankful for what has been done in my life and grateful for what I’ve learned from my struggles.

I’m On”- Wale, Meek MIllz, Wiz Khalifa, Big Boii

The song, “I’m On”, has attracted a lot of attention from people all over the world. “I’m on like the lights on and if I ever fall off I’ll be back on the same night”, says Wiz Kahalifa. This song tells the story of people with ambition, and something to say about it. My favorite verse in the song is, “older people lookin at me like how I got all of this, say I got it from grindin, perfect timing Started at the bottom, aint afraid to climb it, Took something rough and turn it to a diamond It aint come easy, had to find it And now you can’t say I got game cause I define it” says, “Wiz Khalifa”, that’s my favorite verse in this song because, it's real, and he talks about how he came Up from the projects and how he views his life.

Music Review

My favorite artist is Immortal Technique and my favorite song by him is The Fourth Branch. And in that song he mostly sings about all the stuff that has been going on in the world like poverty, kids starving and also about the war in Afghanistan. In all of his song he sings about poverty, wars, socialism and people that are going through hard times. I also like him, because I feel like he has been through a lot, like getting in to trouble with drugs and getting arrested and then he pulled his life together and started to sing.

Controversial Topic: Did man really walk on the moon?
For as long as we can remember Neil Armstrong was the first to set foot on the moon.

As he stepped out of Apollo 11 with the U.S. flag he chanted “One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” How could we forget? We as a nation celebrated that day for years to come.

Some people have always questioned the fact of Neil Armstrong landing on the moon.

Around this time people of the U.S. started uncovering controversies to do with the president and C.I.A. leading them to wonder if in fact Armstrong was able to land on another planet.

Some have said it is hard to believe that we as a nation were able to figure out how to not only survive landing on the moon, but were able to walk out into the atmosphere. Though the doubts of some we as a nation are still able to celebrate and remember Neil Armstrong for what he was able to accomplish.

You be the judge, Did Neil Armstrong walk on the moon?

Reflection
Summer air blowing in my face, it’s warm.
Hot sunshine is burning my arms, my back, it feels good though.
I hear the sounds of children laughing, mothers screaming at their kids, girls gossiping, boys bragging…a child crying.
She’s alone, no one’s comforting her.
Where’s her mama, her daddy, where is her family?
The little girl keeps crying, chills run up my spine as I listen to her cry, suffering.
What happened to this little girl?
Where did she come from?
Strangers seem to pay no attention to her.
I start to wonder…Is this real, or am I dreaming?
I can’t see her face; her long, black beautiful hair is covering it.
She’s hiding something; she won’t look up, what’s wrong?
I get closer, hoping that she will not run away, I want to help.
I realize that this is no dream.
She doesn’t move, doesn’t even twitch.
She’s little, it looks like she hasn’t eaten in days, maybe even weeks?
She’s wearing a white T-shirt.
I notice something red, like a stain, lots of them?
She’s covered in blood, what happened to her?
I look closer, bruises cover her arms, her legs, everywhere.
What happened?
I want to ask her, but I am afraid to know the truth.
I call to her, no answer.
She’s still crying, she doesn’t seem to mind my presence.
Tears of blood start falling from her eyes, she begins to cry even harder.
What’s wrong, I think to myself?
She falls to the ground, I fall next to her.
I can feel her pain, I don’t even know this little girl, but I can’t help but love her.
I feel protective over her, like she’s my baby.
She starts coughing blood, I start to worry.
“What’s wrong?” No answer still?
Minutes pass, it almost seems like hours.
The world seems to pass us by.
Nobody notices us…are we invincible?
The little girl has a strange smell, a familiar smell?
It’s sweet. Strawberries? Candy? What is it?
I know this smell, but from where?
I hug the little girl, she doesn’t hug back, let alone twitch.
I can feel her heart beat, and suddenly, our heart beats become one.
It’s strange, yet comforting.
Her head is still facing down, she’s still crying, but why?
I can see clearly that she’s hurt, but from what? Who? I ask one more time,
“What happened?” Silence.
She’s stops crying, her tears have stopped falling, just silence.
She slowly looks up, but she is not facing me.
She’s looking ahead, facing the sunshine.
A beautiful smile grows across her face.
I don’t understand. Why is she smiling?
She shifts her attention towards me, our eyes meet.
I am speechless, shocked!
Her dark brown eyes tell me a sad, horrific story.
Blood is running from her right eye, it’s swollen, bruised.
Her lip is cut, the wound is deep.
Her pink cheeks are scarred, scratched and marked.
It looks like a billion bees have stung her little face.
Though her face is battered, she’s beautiful.
She can’t speak. She begins to cry again, but is smiling at the same time.
I can’t help but think to myself, she’s beautiful.
I can’t look anymore, it’s too painful, too sad.
What happened to this little girl, what did she go through?
I start to cry with her, I feel her pain.
My eyes are closed, suddenly, I feel a warm, soft hand touch mine, and it’s hers.
I look up at her, she smiles, why? S
he opens her mouth, as if about to speak…yet I am afraid of what I will hear.
She begins, “I’ve missed you.
I’ve your smile, your laugh, where did it go?
What happened Joanne?”
The air is taken out of me.
Do I know her?
How does she know my name?
What does she mean, “What happened?”
She says, “Look what he’s done to me, to us!
Is this really the meaning of love?
Why didn’t you ever tell anyone, why!?
He doesn’t love me, he never did.”
She begins to cry.
Now I understand…the little girl is me.
Somehow, it’s like I am looking at myself in the mirror, at how my life use to be.
Have I really been in denial all those years?
Was it that bad that I had lost myself that I couldn’t even recognize the little girl? Suddenly, my face begins to hurt, it’s swollen.
My body begins to ache and bleed, it’s broken.
The little girl is gone, I am her alone, starring at myself in the mirror.
I touch my face, it burns.
The tears sting my broken face as they begin to fall.
I’m covered in blood, my blood, his blood!
Have I been lying to myself?
I realize, I can’t run away from my dark past.
I thought I wasn’t alone, but now I am.
I thought I could hide from the nightmares, but I can’t.
Where did the little girl go?
Well, it’s obvious…she lives inside of me.
I’m still shattered into pieces, broken, stolen.
She will always live inside of me.
The little girl who is broken, lost, scared of the world, who was stolen from her childhood, her innocence will always live inside of me.
When will this battle between me, myself, and I be over?
When will I be free from my dark past that still haunts me, day and night?
I miss that little girl.
I hurt with her, I cry with her, but I cannot heal her.
No matter how hard I try, she is broken…and so am I.

Music Review –
I am writing this article in regards to a song that has recently been released on numerous radio stations. This particular song, in my opinion, is very degrading, inappropriate, and simply ignorant with its word choice. Talking about “being sexy” and that you simply “know it”, because you “work out” is outragingly misleading. I would not listen to this song if it was my only choice, and I personally adore music. In fact, I am a huge fan of the genre this is listed under. However I cannot find myself to stand listening to this song even for the slightest moment. I DO NOT recommend this song to ANYONE that enjoys music that actually has a meaning and sentimental value behind it.
Sincerely, Kay Jaysexyandknowit.jpg

My Brother
Carlos, my brother,
You’re always there
Through the hard
And the good times
You never fail to help us
You can tell me you love me
Without a bit of hesitation
You let me know that you care
No matter what I do or say
And in return for all the things
You’ve done and do for me
I give you all of my respect.
By,Gladis

The loneliness creeps up from behind
Takes me in its arms,
wraps tight around me
I’m suffocating from its grasp,
it won’t let me be
Since the day you left,
it’s all I can feel
It’s hard to tell what’s real
Why did this feeling start
When will it end
I go through the days
With my mind in a haze
The exotic hating goes through me
Watch and scream
As I’m dreaming
I try to bravely smile
And hopefully remember it will all be over in a while

ABOUT FISHING

Fishing is one of my favorite sports. I like fishing because the view is beautiful. It doesn’t matter where you’re at when your're fishing, the view, and the sound of the birds and animals make it very peaceful. You are able to get away from all the stress and drama from the city and your house, you are able to kick back, and relax. Another reason I like fishing so much is because once I catch a fish and I hook it I love the adrenaline that it gives me when it fights back trying to get away. The kinds of fish I like to catch are rainbow trout, cut throats, bass, and catfish. The reason why I like to catch those fish is because I like the colors on the rainbow trout, the cut throat, and the bass. The catfish are ugly to me. I just like the fight they give me once I hook them. Catfish can get really huge they take a really long time to reel the ugly fish in, because if you don’t take your time reeling the fish in the fish has a 75% chance to get away from you. The rainbow trout and the cut throat are really good eating if they're cooked right, I don’t like to eat the catfish they don’t look too good to eat. The places I have been fishing are Millcreek, Grantsville, Strawberry, Flaming George, & the Snake river in Idaho. All those places are really good places to go fishing, they all have beautiful views, and have big fish inside the water. I know there is other beautiful places to go fishing.

The Truth about Spice
A detailed account of the facts.By Ryan V.

K2, Spice, Herbal Incense, POTporri, “Spizz”, Cannabinoid Crack, whatever they call it, chances are you’ve heard about it. If you’re a highschooler or junior highschooler, chances are you’ve even tried it or have had an opportunity to. Whether you have or you want to, or are even just the tiniest bit curious, there are some things you should know about “Spice” and why you shouldn’t. First, let’s go over some surprisingly common and also surprisingly stupid myths about spice.

  • “Spice is a natural herb that gets you high when you smoke it.”

FALSE: Spice is a synthetic cannabinoid drug. That means that the active chemical in Spice is manmade and artificially synthesized in a lab, whether that lab be professional or some home chemists basement.

  • “Spice containers have the ingredients listed on the label if you want to do research on what’s in it.”

FALSE: Spice containers have the ingredients they do NOT contain listed on the label. They do this to verify that the product does not contain any illegal chemicals, some being: JWH-018, JWH-073, JWH-200, CP-47,497, Cannabicyclohexanol, and AM-2201.

  • “Spice is a safe alternative to weed.”

FALSE: Spice is dangerous for MANY reasons, some of which I’m going to cover in this article.

So how did spice start? Well it all started when a chemical researcher first created a line of cannabinoid chemicals. With the research, the process of synthesis (detailed instructions of how to create the chemical) got leaked to certain areas of East Asia. The idea for what we now know as Spice started there. They began mass producing the chemical and spraying it on herbs for use as a psychoactive drug. It didn’t take too long before we started seeing these little jars and baggies on American shelves in smoke shops everywhere. Many people were curious and wanted to try this “synthetic marijuana”. The products were (and are) labeled as “herbal incense” (or “herbal potpourri”, or even “collector’s items”) and also were labeled “not for human consumption” so that the people marketing the product weren’t legally liable and were able to sell it. Because it was technically legal because of these simple loopholes, there was nothing to stop people from selling, buying, and smoking it.

Quickly, problems started arising. Many people had bad reactions to the drug and or used an excessive amount of it causing overdose, vomiting, seizures, and even deaths. Eventually, the active chemicals were made illegal because of their dangerous nature. Unfortunately that didn’t solve the problem. Smoke shops had already gotten a taste of just how much money spice pulled in for them and many weren’t willing to stop selling. This resulted in a large number of sting operations and spice busts in many different places. However it didn’t take long before spice manufacturers found another loophole. New strains of cannabinoid chemicals were produced and used for the second generation of spice; potpourri. This went on for a while until finally a new law was passed listing all "cannabimimetic agents" a Schedule I controlled substance. However, because of the long period of time that spice was legal, it had gained a very large number of consumers. Many smoke shops still continued (and still do) continue to sell spice under the counter.

That’s the history, now to the present. Today the issues that are currently arising are with home cooked strains of spice and the newer generations of strains that are being released. Many people are cooking their own spice because of the fact that it’s extremely easy to manufacture and that it’s extremely popular. These people care about making a profit, not the quality or safety of their product. Many of these people are using harsh chemicals such as acetone (the active ingredient in nail polish remover that is also used as a paint thinner) as solvents to break up the active chemicals. Many people are spraying herbs with specific kinds of Raid ® (insect killer) and selling the resulting product as fake spice. The newer generations of spice are becoming increasingly dangerous as a direct result of the ban on cannabinoid based drugs. Because these producers are unable to legally produce and distribute anything containing any cannabinoid chemicals, they are turning to other completely separate classes of psychoactive chemicals that have a higher potential for danger. With some of these new strains, it’s considered normal to blackout in the middle of taking a hit.

Spice is extremely dangerous because of many reasons. Like the fact that you will never know exactly what you’re getting. You will almost always be getting different chemicals and there is no way to know how body specifically will react to it, whether it’s a bad trip or your last trip. The most common result of spice usage is heart arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat that can lead to stroke or heart attack).

So there you have it, the truth about spice. No more myths or misconceptions. So now the only question is what are you going to do about it?

PAN’S LABRYNTH
10862042_det.jpg
This movie is based on the Spaniard revolution. It’s about a little girl whose father passed away, and her mother ends up remarrying a captain and they move into the captain’s house and they live near a war zone. This story shows the sadness that comes along with war. It also tells of fascism and insensitivity. It’s a bit gory, has crude behavior and is action packed. So enjoy this adventure!
